Evolution of a Sad Woman

Thank you for this interview, Gale.  Can we start out by having you tell us briefly what your new book is about?

My mystery and romance novel, Evolution of a Sad Woman, is about five men, strangers, who are in love with the same beautiful woman, Kizzy.  When she is brutally murdered, they must share their romantic histories to find clues to solve the crime.  The investigation takes them down a shadowy highway of deceit and cruelty into a world of darkness and crime.  Be prepared for a surprise ending to this romance and mystery novel!

More and more authors are realizing the potential for sales that derives from virtual book tours.  Can you tell us your personal reasons why you chose a virtual book tour to help get the word out about your new book?

The Internet is the place of the future.  I was fascinated by the fact that I could reach such a large audience without leaving the comfort of my home.  No traveling sounded good to me.  Too, the fact that my interviews and blogs will be archived for months to come was very appealing.  I believe my mystery thriller will do very well in the virtual world.

Evolution of a Sad WomanIs this the first time you have heard of them?

Yes, it is.  I do believe they will be around for a long time.  They offer a lot to the author.  I believe they offer a lot to the reader, too.  Readers can actually interact with an author on the other side of the world.

What do you hope to achieve through promoting your book through a virtual book tour?

I hope to attract new readers to my mystery and romance book, Evolution of a Sad Woman.  Also, I hope to reach out to my current reading audience.  I hope many of them will ask that question that is lurking in the back of their minds.

Do you promote online through other means?  Website?  Blog?

Yes.  I have a website  http://www.galelaure.com .

My blog is http://www.evolutionofasadwoman.com .

Do you promote through Twitter and Facebook?  What are your links there?

Yes.  I participate in several.  I love to hear from readers.

What are your experiences with offline booksignings?  Which do you prefer – online or offline and can you give us the reasons why?

I have done booksignings in bookstores.  I really enjoyed meeting all the people and discussing my mystery, romance novel.  It is always fun to look up and see a line of people waiting for your autograph to the book they are buying.  What a wonderful feeling!

I feel there is room for both events – online and booksignings in stores.  Each has an advantage.  Each may even reach a different audience.

Online, you can reach a much larger audience.  And – you can reach that audience for a long time in the future.  You do not have to travel, or get dressed up.  You can even stay in your nightgown and blog about your book!  How fun is that!

Here’s a fun question.  If money was no object, how would you promote your book?

I suppose I have to add one more thing to that question.  Time.  If I had all the time in the world and money was no object, I would travel to all the trade shows and festivals to meet with other authors and readers.  I would do interviews with Oprah, David Letterman, Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien, Live with Regis & Kelly, Ellen DeGeneres, Publisher’s Weekly, USA Today, Los Angeles Times, New York Times and many more.  Of course, my mystery and romance novel, Evolution of a Sad Woman, would be the topic.  I love to talk about my book.   I would travel doing booksignings at bookstores, and while traveling have virtual blog book tours all over the world!

Thank you for this interview, Gale.  Do you have any final words?

Read, read, read.

Evolution of a Sad Woman is a mystery, suspense, thriller, romance novel.  I hope everyone will take a look at my book.  I think you will enjoy it.  Remember my website is http://www.galelaure.com.

Please, everyone participate and follow my Virtual Blog Tour November 2nd-December 16th.  I would love to hear from you.
