More and more authors are realizing the potential for sales that derives from virtual book tours.  Can you tell us your personal reasons why you chose a virtual book tour to help get the word out about your new book?

I have heard of authors touring throughout the country and that takes a lot of time and money. The internet is a great resource and you can reach readers throughout the world.

It is a very convenient way to promote your book from the comforts of your home.

Is this the first time you have heard of them?

Yes.

What do you hope to achieve through promoting your book through a virtual book tour?

I hope that I can get the word out there about my book. Promoting the book this way may spark the interest of an agent or an editor.

Do you promote online through other means?  Website?  Blog?

I have been using Yahoo advertising to promote my website. I also have my own blog and I have a book trailer which you can watch at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUKPBBBMVNM.

Do you promote through Twitter and Facebook?  What are your links there?

My Twitter link is http://twitter.com/ginger_high.

My Facebook link is http://www.facebook.com/melissa.gingerhigh.

What are your experiences with offline booksignings?  Which do you prefer – online or offline and can you give us the reasons why?

I have gone to two book signings. It was a wonderful experience and I had the opportunity to meet a lot of different people. Since I am very shy, I prefer to work online because I am able to express myself more freely.

Here’s a fun question.  If money was no object, how would you promote your book?

EVERYWAY!  I would use every form of publicity that is available to promote my book.

Thank you for this interview, Melissa.  Do you have any final words?

Thank You. I had fun answering the questions.
