Q: Can you tell us why you wrote your book?

I am a mother of three, an art teacher and a “Jesus Freak”. I love to teach at church because I can talk about Jesus and God and the Holy Spirit. Using my own artwork, The Christian Alphabet Book, makes it fun and easy. It is such a blessing to me!

Q: Which part of the book was the hardest to write?

The entire book was hard for me to write. I am an artist, not a writer. Especially because it is writing for God, -to teach about His everlasting love and life, it was difficult to find the perfect words. Writing about spiritual things is tough.

Q: Does your book have an underlying message that readers should know about?

The main message is to LVOE GOD AND LOVE OTHERS, like Jesus taught us. “Love” ~the dove from above guides you through the entire alphabet and teaches about Jesus, Prayer, and the Bible.

Q: Do you have a writing tip you’d like to share?

Kneel down at your bed side and write on your knees. Say a prayer before you begin, when you are stuck, and when you are finished.

Q: Can you tell us a little about your childhood?

I had a wonderful childhood with two loving parents. I didn’t want to grow up! My mom and dad are devoted Christians who taught me that you spell LOVE; G-I-V-E.

Q: Where’s your favorite place to write at home?

I put on my “Gregorian Chant” Cd (monks chanting) and sit or kneel by my bed.

Q: What do you do to get away from it all?

I go to church. My church is always open. It is my home away from home (only, no laundry, cooking, dishes, cleaning, phone calls!). I go there to recharge my spirit and batteries.

Q: If you had one wish, what would that be?

I wish God would give us a glimpse of heaven so we would all work harder to get there by loving each other deeply.

Q: If you could be anywhere in the world other than where you are right now, where would that place be?

In a church or in an art museum. Italy has magnificent churches and museums. 

Q: Thank you so much for this interview, Tracy. Do you have any final words?

The Christian Alphabet Book is a very visual book, -with about 100 Christian symbols. It is interactive book, “Love” –the dove gives you fun activities in order to reinforce each of the 26 lessons. It has many important lessons of love for all ages. No matter how old we are, we need to be reminded that Jesus always loves us and He promises us eternal life if we believe in Him and follow Him.

ChristianAlphabetBook-400x500 ABOUT THE CHRISTIAN ALPHABET

In 1999, the Lord inspired me at a church choir event. As I sat in the back pew, listening to the awesome Christian music, an incredible urge to draw came over me. Being an art teacher, I had experienced this feeling, but never with such intensity. I had a pen in my pocket, but the only paper available was the program I received at the door. In the empty space of that program, I sketched like crazy. I felt as though I would pop if I didn’t get the ideas out of my brain immediately.

I will never forget that experience. I felt peaceful yet energized. God was just getting started with me. Over the next nine months, God and I created this alphabet.
